Nike Sports Camps are residential programmes for 8-17 year olds from 110+ different nationalities. We deliver a variety of programmes at outstanding schools in England that combine sports coaching, English language teaching, and life skills to create amazing experiences for young people.

We are looking for people who have or work within education in a pastoral or leadership role i.e. Head of Year/House or Head of Department to join our Senior Management Team this summer. Our staff teams are made up of vibrant and enthusiastic sports people with an interest in education and child development, who keep players safe, engaged and motivated during their camp. We are looking for both female and male leaders to manage, encourage, and support the onsite staff team and oversee the smooth running of these programmes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Management Team (SMT) are the foundations for a successful and safe camp environment. Within this team we have a Camp Director, a Senior Camp Manager and Camp Managers. In varying capacities the SMT work with the teaching, coaching and welfare team to ensure the smooth running of the venue. Working closely with the head office, it is the Senior Management Team on site responsibility to create a safe, fun and inclusive environment, closely monitoring the atmosphere and energy for both staff and students and will adapt/amend accordingly. The general requirements to be a member of the SMT are;

* Provide guidance to all staff, including inductions, regular meetings and performance reviews.
* Manage various roles depending on your position within the SMT
* The Camp Director will be the Designated Person for safeguarding children & child protection on site but other members of the SMT will enforce this
* Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate time off/breaks are given (staff to work two shifts out of three)
* Manage staff shifts at the end of each day via our online management tool ‘staff wise’.
* Deal with any disciplinary cases (both staff and players) in accordance with policies and procedures
* Manage the relationship with the venue on significant operational matters
* Plan and prepare the arrival/departure days and oversee the off-site excursion preparation
* Support the creation of Risk Assessments before the start of each camp
* Work as a team to ensure that all relevant documentation from staff is submitted to the Camp Operations Manager each week
* Deliver the opening and closing presentations

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

All staff will contribute to the overall smooth running of the camp. Ultimately the safety of children is paramount, and the high standards expected of working with top brands needs to be maintained. We expect high personal standards, friendly, positive and approachable staff who will always remain professional and calm. Staff will be able to handle sensitive situations well, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidance, have excellent organisational skills, be good role models and be able to contribute to a positive working environment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

* Have Management experience in a relevant field i.e. working with children and or on residential camps.
* Have previous experience in managing staff and supervising children
* Be an effective team leader and create a positive working environment
* Experience in dealing with safeguarding protocols to high standard (all staff complete online training)
* Looking to take a step into Middle or Senior management within educational setting
* Hold a first aid qualification (desirable, not essential)
