â¢\tOffer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone\nâ¢\tReceive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way\nâ¢\tUndertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team\nâ¢\tFacilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies\n â¢\tOpening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols\nâ¢\tMaintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system\nâ¢\tProcessing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional\nâ¢\tProcessing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail\nâ¢\tTaking messages and passing on information\nâ¢\tFiling and retrieving paperwork\nâ¢\tProcessing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines\nâ¢\tComputer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures\nâ¢\tInitiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers \nâ¢\tProviding clerical assistance to Practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning\nâ¢\tOrdering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies\nâ¢\tKeeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter\n As a minimum, applicants should have relevant skills, qualifications and/or experience at SCQF Level 4 (or above) including English.\n\nCandidates should have:\nAn interest in working in customer service.\nA willingness to learn.\nA willingness to complete a 12-month apprenticeship.\nA willingness to attend regular reviews to discuss your progress and development.\nA willingness to attend internal training (and external training if required) and taking responsibility, with support, to collect the evidence required for your SVQ Portfolio.
