Youth Worker
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join a small KS3 class of students who have been excluded from, or are at risk of exclusion from, mainstream schools due to behavioural challenges. The group is predominantly male, and requires a positive role model who can inspire, guide, and support them in developing resilience and emotional regulation.
What You’ll Do
*
Build trusting relationships with students, offering consistent encouragement and guidance
*
Support emotional regulation and behaviour management in and out of the classroom
*
Act as a mentor and role model, promoting positive choices and self-confidence
*
Work closely with teaching staff to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
*
Help students re-engage with education and prepare for future opportunities
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Resilient, empathetic, and patient
*
Skilled at de-escalation and emotional support
*
Able to connect with young people through positive communication and consistency
*
Passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs
*
Experienced in youth work, education, or mentoring (desirable but not essential)
