Your Role as a PRU Teaching Assistant (TA): Support students with SEMH, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs. Work one-to-one or in small groups to help students engage with learning. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities. Promote positive behaviour and help implement behaviour support plans. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress and confidence. Support students’ emotional wellbeing and personal development. Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and school policies always. What You’ll Need as a PRU Teaching Assistant (TA): Previous experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH setting (essential). A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and challenging environment. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
