A leading law firm is seeking a Solicitor to join its Family department, based in Somerset. The role is open to candidates from newly qualified level up to approximately five years’ post-qualification experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing a caseload of legal aid matters, under supervision, ensuring cases and transactions are progressed efficiently
2. Liaising directly with clients to take instructions and providing clear guidance that meets client expectations
3. Working closely with Partners and senior Lawyers to enhance client relationship skills
4. Proactively building and strengthening relationships with smaller clients
5. Scoping and pricing work effectively, with appropriate supervision
6. Preparing and progressing advocacy matters while negotiating appropriate outcomes for clients
7. Ensuring compliance with relevant SRA principles and professional conduct rules
8. Adhering to all risk management policies and procedures
9. Enhancing personal profile, attracting delegated work, and contributing to departmental business development initiatives
10. Consistently managing time recording, WIP monitoring and billing across personal and delegated matters
11. Working towards personal and team KPIs, monitoring performance accordingly
12. Aligning personal objectives with the strategic goals of the department
Candidate Requirements:
13. Qualified Solicitor
14. Experience in Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse matters
15. Ability to manage files with minimal supervision
16. Strong client-handling skills with a commitment to exceptional service delivery
17. Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
