Making an Impact
Our SMART lighting control solutions focus on sustainability, energy savings, and enhancing well-being. Within our Agile R&D organization, we develop IoT solutions, including hardware, embedded software, sensors, mobile apps, APIs, and cloud services.
As part of our 2025 graduate intake, you will support our R&D teams at Dartford, gaining exposure to different areas of our software development lifecycle. Future opportunities may include working with Embedded, Software, Cloud, or System Testing teams.
Past graduates have successfully transitioned into full-time roles, contributing significantly to our teams based on their interests and business needs.
Main purpose of the role
Assist in testing while helping to evolve our SMART building solutions. Learn about quality assurance principles, methods, and tools by creating and executing end-to-end tests for intelligent lighting control applications.
Some of your responsibilities:
* Understanding Helvar products by designing functional and non-functional tests, including regression and progression testing, both manual and automated.
* Executing test cases according to existing plans.
* Maintaining test plans, cases, and scripts.
* Creating and managing test environments.
* Investigating lighting system issues, collaborating with engineering teams for quick resolutions.
* Documenting results, logs, and preparing reports for stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
* Studying or holding a degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or Electronics.
* Basic knowledge of testing principles and frameworks like Robot Framework, Pytest, or Cypress.
* Understanding of CI tools, version control systems like Git, and Agile methodologies.
* Strong teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Bonus Skills:
* Programming languages such as Java or Python.
* Scripting (e.g., Bash), network concepts, BLE, Linux OS.
