Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways and WaterGreater Manchester (M26)Salary to £75k + packageA long-established infrastructure and civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, to work across a diverse portfolio of projects within the highways and water sectors.They arelooking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. In this role, youll provide expert commercial and contractual support across the full project lifecycle from early-stage planning through to final account completion.Youll play a pivotal role in protecting profitability, managing risk, improving cashflow, and supporting the successful delivery of a diverse range of infrastructure and civil engineering projects.Working closely with operational, commercial, finance, and procurement teams, youll ensure projects remain commercially robust, supply chain performance is maximised, and key milestones are delivered on time and within budget.Youll also take ownership of subcontract procurement and management, while building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams to secure the best commercial outcomes.Alongside project delivery, youll support the development of junior commercial staff, helping to mentor and guide trainee and assistant Quantity Surveyors across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesHealth, Safety & Compliance

Commercial Delivery
* Manage subcontract procurement and administration from pre-contract through to final account
* Ensure compliance with internal commercial procedures and reporting requirements
* Work closely with estimating, operational, and procurement teams to support successful project delivery
* Balance multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
Performance & Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to procurement strategies and commercial planning
* Support innovation, efficiencies, and change management initiatives
* Use commercial systems and reporting tools effectively to drive performance
About YouQualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent industry experience (10+ years)
* CSCS accredited
* Professional membership such as RICS, ICE, or CICES preferred
* Proven commercial management experience within civil engineering or infrastructure xsngvjr
* Experience delivering projects including highways, drainage, groundworks, and concrete structures
* Strong knowledge of projects up to £20m in value
* Full UK driving licence
Technical Knowledge & Skills
* Strong understanding of NEC, JCT, and ICE contracts
* Experienced in cost reporting, forecasting, and contract administration
* Knowledge of bonds, warranties, and insurance requirements
* Confident using Microsoft Office and commercial/project planning software
* Familiar with measurement methods including CESMM4, MCHW, and SSM7
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and mitigate risk
