Our client, a well-established, purpose-led multi-channel, consumer-facing organisation is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to its Board. This is an opportunity to contribute to the long-term stewardship of a trusted institution with strong regional roots, a loyal member base and a clear commitment to customer service, resilience and sustainable growth.
The Opportunity
The organisation operates in a consumer-facing, highly regulated retail environment, where operational effectiveness, service quality and customer outcomes are central to success. As a Non-Executive Director, you will bring independent judgement and practical insight drawn from senior leadership experience within complex customer-centric operations.
The Board is focused on ensuring the organisation continues to deliver excellent outcomes while strengthening operational resilience, modernising services and maintaining robust governance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the oversight of retail strategy, customer propositions and service delivery
* Provide constructive challenge and support on operational performance, efficiency and resilience
* Oversee the effectiveness of end-to-end operations, including customer journeys, distribution channels and service models
* Support strong risk, conduct and regulatory outcomes in a retail services context
* Bring an independent perspective to Board and Committee discussions, grounded in real-world operational experience
* Uphold high standards of governance, integrity and accountability, acting in the best interests of members
Person Specification
Candidates are likely to demonstrate:
* Senior executive and board-level experience within large scale retail services or a comparable regulated, consumer-facing sector
* A strong background in operational leadership, including responsibility for large-scale service delivery, customer operations, or multi-channel retail environments
* Understanding of customer conduct, service quality, operational risk and regulatory expectations
* The ability to translate operational complexity into clear, strategic Board-level insight
* Sound judgement, independence of thought and a collaborative, values-led approach
