As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising manufacturing operations through quality, delivery, and efficiency improvements, using continuous improvement and lean techniques. Your tasks include analyzing engineering design documents, establishing manufacturing methods, creating conceptual sketches, and initiating tooling design and build.
The role is full-time at our manufacturing facilities in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, with engagement with our remote manufacturing partners in China, USA, and Brazil.
In this role, a typical day will include:
* Driving process and component quality improvements within manufacturing cells to enhance FTPR (First Time Pass Rate).
* Designing and implementing tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment, and process improvements.
* Applying Lean Manufacturing principles using the Veralto Enterprise System (VES) Kaizen tools.
* Leading Manufacturing Engineering projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
* Identifying, installing, and commissioning new plant and equipment.
* Working hands-on with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting in manufacturing cells.
* Creative problem solving and data analysis for decision making.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience in manufacturing, operations, or engineering roles.
* Ability to design and create mechanical solutions.
* Practical skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
* Understanding of electrical engineering principles or electronics is beneficial.
