Platform Engineer - Edinburgh - outside IR35 - 6 month contract
Are you an Platform Engineer with experience of working on Site Resilience projects?
I have an immediate contract opportunity in Edinburgh for a Platform Engineer to support and enhance existing storage and virtual platforms for a public sector client. Some of the work will involve contributing to NVMe adoption, enhancing organisational resilience, expanding backup services, and improving platform engineering for vMotion setup.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Product Managers and Technology teams to define and prioritise platform roadmaps
* Support virtual and storage platform development
* Propose and implement platform improvements
* Manage platform health, capacity, and integrity
* Monitor storage and archiving procedures
* Support disaster recovery events
Skills Required:
* Proven experience with VMWare, Cisco UCS, NSX environments
* Skilled in disaster recovery planning, platform monitoring, and infrastructure as code
* Proficient in Windows, RHEL operating systems, Agile working practices
* Experience with Grafana, Fibre Channel Fabrics, and Cisco switching
