Project Controls Engineer
Location: Bristol (Hybrid working)

The Opportunity
We are working with a leading consultancy supporting a global pharmaceutical client on a portfolio of high-value capital projects.
This is an opportunity to join a growing team delivering complex engineering and infrastructure programmes, including the development of new laboratory and R&D facilities within a highly regulated environment.
This role is heavily focused on cost control and reporting, alongside planning and project controls, and is suited to someone who can confidently provide insight, challenge performance, and support effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Support cost control activities, including budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
* Produce accurate and timely cost reports, highlighting key risks and opportunities
* Integrate cost and schedule data to provide clear project performance insights
* Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6
* Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to challenge assumptions and validate project data
* Monitor overall project performance across cost, schedule, and risk
* Produce clear, data-driven reports using Excel and other tools
* Support decision-making through proactive analysis and communication
About You
* Experience in project controls, cost control, or project management within engineering, infrastructure, or construction environments
* Strong understanding of cost reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
* Competent in Excel (essential) and Primavera P6 (preferred)
* Strong communication skills, confident in questioning, influencing, and engaging stakeholders
* Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
* Proactive and driven, with a desire to develop in a high-performing environment
Ideal Background
You may currently be working as a:
* Project Controls Engineer
* Cost Engineer / Cost Controller
* Assistant Project Manager with strong cost and reporting experience
Experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or complex infrastructure projects would be advantageous but not essential.
