Job summary
CCU is a busy 11 bedded Unit nursing Elective and Emergency admissions. In addition, the role will include rotation into the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories. The team is friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.
Responsibilities
* Provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula
* Undertake physiological observations
* Escort patients from clinical areas
* Provide personal care
* Accurately document all interventions
* Complete induction course and mandatory training as required to join the team
* Work as part of a team with effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Be motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal/professional development
* Be a member of the multi-disciplinary team with supervision and mentorship support
* Undertake enhanced observations as required
* Act as a patient escort as needed

Qualifications / Experience / Skills
Experience
* Essential: Relevant experience of working in health or social care environment delivering personal care
* Desirable: Relevant experience working in the NHS
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
* Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Professional without direct supervision
* Digital skills, use of systems and ability to use physiological recording equipment and record findings
* Good communication skills and ability to document care events on digital systems or in writing
* Ability to undertake vital observations and escalate any concerns to a registered professional
* Care, compassion and commitment to patients and carers
* A clear desire to work in a care environment and understanding of the role
* Ability to maintain information confidentiality
Desirable
* Evidence of development of knowledge and skills relevant to the role
* Training and competence in clinical tasks relevant to the role (e.g., cannulation, wound care, ECG)
Other
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (for domiciliary/community role)
Qualifications
Essential: GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or Functional skills for English/Maths, Care Certificate
Desirable: NVQ level 3/work-based diploma or equivalent; evidence of mandatory and statutory training (e.g., Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire, etc.); 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above or equivalent
