Assistant Shop Manager role at Cancer Research UK, Bath (Westgate Street).
Salary: £12.78 - £14.91 per hour | Reports to: Shop manager | Department: Trading | Contract: Permanent | Working hours: Part time 15 hours per week | Location: Bath (Westgate Street) | Closing date: 21 September 2025 (may close earlier if a high volume of applications is received or a suitable candidate is found). At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our trading team as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, supporting the shop manager and team to maximise income through people, resources and stock.

Responsibilities
* Support the shop manager to guide, inspire and engage a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers.
* Support the commercial running of the store, including display and merchandising, stock management, maintaining shop standards, store layout, sales and income.
* Lead by example and provide excellent customer and supporter service.
* Work with the shop manager to achieve targets for donated stock, cash, gift aid, average selling price, sell through and stock processing.
* Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
* Assist the shop manager in organising and delivering creative fundraising events to achieve targets.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.
* Deputise for the shop manager in their absence.

* Adaptability in changing situations, including the ability to work independently.
* Commercial awareness.
* Ability to build relationships and communicate well.
* Ideally experience in supervision and an understanding of retail and fashion.
