Financial Controller – Construction
Location: Aldridge (Office-Based)
Salary: Competitive, DOE

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a growing construction business, based full-time from our Aldridge office. This is a key senior role, working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to provide strong financial control, accurate reporting, and commercial insight across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Full responsibility for company financial control and reporting
*
Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cashflow
*
Oversee job costing, WIP, valuations, and project profitability
*
Manage CVRs, applications for payment, and margin analysis
*
Control payroll, CIS, VAT (including reverse charge), and statutory compliance
*
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
*
Liaise with auditors, banks, accountants, and external advisors
*
Maintain and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager within construction
*
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, CVRs, and construction cashflow
*
Solid knowledge of CIS, VAT, and construction-specific accounting
*
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience)
*
Highly organised, detail-focused, and commercially aware
*
Comfortable working in a hands-on, office-based role
