EduTalent is working with a specialist school in Brighton that is looking to appoint a passionate Art and Music Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is a 4-day per week, long-term supply role, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school supports students with additional learning needs and provides a creative, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop confidence through the arts.
Job Description
* Plan and deliver engaging Art and Music lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN
* Teach small groups in a supportive, specialist setting
* Adapt lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets
* Encourage creativity, confidence, and self-expression through the arts
* Work closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN support staff to ensure students are fully supported
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
* Maintain high standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing
Requirements
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
2. Experience teaching Art at secondary level
3. Music teaching experience is desirable but not essential
4. Experience working with SEN students (desirable but not essential)
5. Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
6. Creative, patient, and adaptable teaching approach
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team
8. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Requirements
Essential: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH and/or ASD A caring, resilient, and patient approach Ability to work shifts between 7am–11pm on a rota basis Strong communication and teamwork skills Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities Desirable: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Knowledge of PACE, PBS, PRICE, or trauma-informed care Experience in residential childcare or specialist education settings Qualification Pathway: Candidates without a Level 3 will be enrolled onto the qualification following successful completion of a 6-month probation period with the client.
