We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to support the end-to-end management of projects and ensure successful delivery of benefits within the agreed scope, budget and timescales. This will be a fixed term contract for a period of 24 months. The role will be hybrid, so you could be based anywhere but would be expected to travel to the Head Office in Carlisle, on average, twice per month depending on project activities.

The Role


Main Responsibilities

* Deliver agreed project objectives and manage, govern and control projects in line with business strategy. Work closely with sponsors, business owners and SMEs to successfully deliver outputs.
* Plan and manage project activities and tasks to achieve the project delivery plan and overall timescales.
* Deliver all projects to the original timescales agreed.
* Monitor and report project costs, flagging any exceptions to the budget for approval.
* Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing controls and actions to achieve satisfactory resolution.
* Provide regular and accurate progress updates throughout the Project Life Cycle, with concise reports and metrics for PMO governance.
* Effectively manage stakeholders across the Project Life Cycle, including third party management where appropriate.
* Promote and embed the Change Management Framework across the Society; ensure documentation is completed to required standards and timescales; support data for Change Authority decisions.
* Support the PMO in embedding the Change Management Framework and continuously improve its effectiveness.
* Track and report project costs to ensure delivery within the agreed budget.


About You

You’ll have significant previous experience in a similar role or progression from a Trainee Project Manager role. You’ll be required to complete an APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) whilst in the role (unless you already hold a similar industry recognised qualification).
