Learning Support Assistant - Ages 12-17Birmingham (accessible via public transport and a short walk for non-drivers)£110-£115 per dayStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)Long Term Futures are actively seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support children between the ages of 12 to 17 with SEND and/or SEMH needs. This role is ideal for a candidate that has a good background with supporting SEND, but also for somebody who is able to build trusting relationships with teenagers.About the RoleWhilst working closely with class teachers and other professionals, your duties as a Learning Support Assistant will include:

* Providing support to pupils with a range of needs
* Supporting pupils inside or outside of the classroom
* Monitoring progress and relaying feedback to staff and parents
* Building trusting relationships
* Supporting with a range of teaching and learning - academic, play, sensory etc
* Identifying behaviours and helping to regulate emotions

You will need

* To be experienced and passionate with SEND & SEMH
* Amazing communication skills
* Resilience - The ability to not take things to heart is key
* A consistent, reliable approach and be able to remain calm under pressure
* The ability to build and maintain trust, whilst enforcing boundaries
