Description Are you interested in exploring and analysing data to support performance for the Scottish Public Pensions Agency? The Scottish Public Pension Agency (SPPA) is an Agency of the Scottish Government. Our principal role is to administer the pensions for employees in the National Health Service, Teachers’, Police and Fire-fighters’ pension schemes in Scotland. You will work within the Operational Service Delivery Team with the Performance and Planning team. As Performance Analyst, you will support the Operational Delivery teams by analysing performance data, providing insights and evidence to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Understand and help teams to apply a range of techniques to analyse data and provide insight, including working with other analytical professionals. Be proactive and present compelling findings that inform wider decisions. Apply innovative approaches to resolve problems supporting Ops Delivery Managers in their demand/resource planning. Demonstrate experience in turning business needs and goals into performance measures. Show an understanding of the core technical concepts related to the role, and can apply them. One of the roles will have line management responsibilities for a business intelligence assistant in the performance and planning team. Use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes. Develop best practice processes to ensure accurate forecasting of future resource requirements. Technical Skills This role is aligned to the Performance Analyst role within the Performance Analyst Job Family. You can find out more about the skills required, here. These skills are assessed by technical assessment. Full details of the assessment and skills being assessed will be shared in advance with all candidates invited to this stage. Experience: You have knowledge of and some experience of using Power BI/Tableau. You have experience being responsible for the performance analysis and reporting in your given area, working independently and seeking guidance when necessary and working with other analytical professions as needed. You have experience of developing a performance measurement framework for a project delivery/Operational Delivery team, including identifying reporting requirements, implementation and validation of tools to deliver against these requirements and capacity management. The Agency administers these public service pension schemes on behalf of Scottish Ministers with an annual pension spend to over 200,000 pensioners to the value of more than £3 billion. DDaT Pay Supplement This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT) profession, as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system, currently BCS Role Mode plus. This post currently attracts a £5000 annual DDAT pay supplement, applicable after a 3-month competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded.
