The role
As an NDT Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working towards the delivery of weapons stowage and launch systems for submarines to suit a global market.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure compliance for all NDT operations within the organisation and its supply chain, ensuring proper process is followed in accordance with the relevant governing standards across several projects.
1. Review and develop NDT procedures, techniques and written practices.
2. Reviewing and interpreting codes, standards and specifications that are relevant to contract requirements.
3. Collaborate with other business units within the wider organisation on NDT issues.
4. Support the design of new products, providing NDT expertise on suitable inspection techniques, identifying any potential limitations and engineering testing solutions.
5. Show a drive for self-development, utilising training to fulfil the role and responsibilities, sharing your knowledge with team members and pushing for team development opportunities.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a monthly basis.
Essential experience of the NDT Engineer
6. In-depth knowledge of the basic NDT methods and the underlying theory.
7. Significant recent and relevant experience in a similar engineering environment.
8. Experience of handling high profile strategic projects.
Qualifications for the NDT Engineer
9. PCN /ASNT Level 2 or 3 in two or more of the following methods: Visual (VT), Penetrant (PT), Magnetic (MT), Ultrasonic (UT).
10. Qualification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and/or Phased Array UT (PAUT) is desirable.
11. Experience and qualifications gained through a recognised NDT apprenticeship scheme is desirable but not essential.
12. Full UK driving licence required

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
