We are seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Manager and Cashier to lead our Cash Office function and ensure the effective management of client and office accounts in line with regulatory and firm requirements. This is a key role within the business, working closely with fee earners, senior management, and directors to support the firm’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Supervise a small team and manage the Cash Office team, overseeing performance, training, development, and appraisals
* Ensure full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, SAR, and AML processes, including managing SAR audits
* Oversee day-to-day processing of all client and office account transactions
* Action and authorise Faster Payments, CHAPS payments, and cheque requests
* Ensure all bank and client accounts are accurately reconciled
* Manage month-end and year-end processes, including reporting and audit preparation
* Check and approve bills, credit notes, completion statements, and client interest calculations
* Maintain the purchase ledger and oversee cash-flow, liaising regularly with Directors
* Assist fee earners with ledger queries, billing, disbursements, residual balances, and payment issues
* Manage debtors and oversee the collection of unpaid disbursements
* Allocate team resources to ensure efficient service delivery, providing after-hours support where required
* Support managers and Directors with ad-hoc finance and reporting tasks
About You
* Proven experience in a legal accounts environment
* Management experience 5+ years
* Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal finance compliance
* Confident team leader with excellent organisational and communication skills
* Highly accurate, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
* Experience of legal case management systems - Proclaim preferred
