Nursery Manager
Are you a passionate and experienced childcare professional ready to lead at our beautiful NEW nursery setting based in Ashcroft ? Hopscotch Day Nurseries are seeking a determined Nursery Manager at our Ashcroft setting, opening Spring 2026 to take the reigns of daily operations, inspire and maintain a dedicated team, and ensure the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding.
About the Role
As Nursery Manager of a Hopscotch setting, you will hold overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the nursery. You will be a positive role model, exemplify excellence and promote best practices across all areas of childcare. You will ensure compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, and statutory frameworks, whilst fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children, staff, and families!
Leadership & Safeguarding
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all staff are trained and confident in safeguarding procedures.
* Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team, promoting continuous professional development.
* Ensure all policies, procedures, and statutory requirements are understood and implemented.
Childcare & Education
* Oversee the delivery of high-quality learning experiences aligned with EYFS.
* Promote inclusive practice, behaviour management, and support for children with SEND.
* Ensure children’s voices are heard and reflected in planning and decision-making.
* Maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
Operational Management
* Manage nursery finances, including budget, payroll.
* Monitor occupancy levels to maintain capacity.
* Ensure health, safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures are upheld.
* Oversee staff deployment, induction, and ongoing suitability.
* Facilitate inspections and implement recommendations from regulatory bodies.
Administration & Compliance
* Lead staff meetings, supervisions, and PDPs to support wellbeing and development.
* Manage nursery systems including Family, and ensure efficient communication and reporting.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a fast-paced, childcare environment.
* Natural affinity with children and strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to lead a team and work independently
* Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a nursery management role
* Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding frameworks
* Experience as a DSL or in multi-agency working

Working hours - Monday-Friday 40hrs a week, 52 weeks a year
Salary Range - £39,852.80-£47,403.20
