About this teaching assistant role:
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
Apply your knowledge of psychology to adapt learning activities and behaviour strategies to suit individual pupils
Support the class teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
Observe, monitor, and track pupil progress, gaining valuable experience relevant to Educational Psychology pathways
Build strong, trusting relationships to support emotional wellbeing, confidence, and academic development
What We're Looking For in an aspiring teaching assistant:
A degree in Psychology (or a related field)
Some experience working with children or young people (e.g. schools, tutoring, care, youth work, or voluntary roles)
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
