Introduction
Be all you can be with Hamberley. At Hamberley, we believe that our residents deserve something ‘Extra Special, Every Day’ and we're recruiting for a Care Assistant to help us achieve our goals.
At Cambridge Grove, our care assistants are called Homemakers. More than support workers, care assistants or healthcare assistants – they are carers and companions all in one. They have the time to get to know our residents and are trusted to give each person the care they need, in the way they like.
Working Pattern
12‑hour shifts, alternate weekends on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
* Provide personalised care to residents, including medication administration, bed making, arranging meals, and assisting with outings.
* Act as a companion, focusing on each individual's unique needs instead of timetabled task‑based care.
* Carry out care in the manner that works best for each resident, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
* Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
Benefits
* A competitive salary and benefits package.
* 28 days holiday, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
* Quality‑linked bonus scheme tied to CQC/CI quality rating.
* Workplace pension for future security.
* A true team culture, offering a collaborative, encouraging working environment.
* Excellent training and career development opportunities.
* Employee Assistance Programme, occupational health and wellbeing support services.
* Everyday saving perks – access to a wide range of retail discounts and savings.
* Free on‑site parking.
* Refer a Friend bonus – earn up to £750 per successful referral.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Passion, empathy, and dedication to help residents live their lives to the fullest.
* Experience as a healthcare assistant, care assistant, carer, home care assistant or domiciliary care assistant desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to learn NVQ qualifications and pursue further clinical training (e.g., dementia, nutrition).
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
About the Role
We provide full training and induction, so we’re more interested in people than previous care experience. This fulfilling role offers the chance to make a real difference in residents’ lives and has a supportive team environment, learning opportunities and a caring culture.
