Our Technical Managers have a significant role, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers on time. The role is demanding, fast-paced, and constantly evolving. Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager - Food Safety, this position is responsible for leading the technical strategy at the site, implementing end-to-end controls, and managing risks. As the Site Technical Manager, you will ensure the safety, legality, quality, and integrity of all products supplied to Morrisons Manufacturing.
You will also be responsible for:
1. Developing and leading the Quality Improvement Plan to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
2. Driving continuous improvement based on a risk management framework.
3. Ensuring product integrity and efficient resource utilization through effective ways of working.
4. Supporting operational and commercial objectives while maintaining safety and quality standards.
5. Building and leading a strong site team through goal setting, coaching, development, and succession planning.
6. Maintaining clear technical standards, policies, procedures, and communication channels for stakeholders.
7. Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Reviewing customer feedback and social media to identify product issues and implementing corrective actions.
This role is based at our Spalding abattoir site, where you will be part of a dedicated team committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
About you
In addition to strong leadership skills demonstrated through courageous and exemplary team management, you will have:
1. Experience in a similar role within food manufacturing.
2. A Food Science degree or equivalent qualification.
3. Extensive knowledge of HACCP and product safety management.
4. The ability to identify and manage risks effectively.
5. Strong operational skills and commercial awareness.
6. Experience leading food safety and product quality incident management teams, including approving and implementing corrective actions.
