The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Head of Operational Function. The jobholder will ensure that performance across the Function or Cluster is monitored, that issues are highlighted and opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness are proactively pursued. The jobholder will keep the Head of Operational Function and other stakeholders informed of priority matters and provide options and recommendations to help them operate effectively. The jobholder will act as a single point of contact for the Operational Function on a number of key areas including litigation, complaints, information assurance, communication and business continuity, providing appropriate signposting as necessary. The jobholder will also ensure effective management of the estate portfolio within their remit, act as Single Point of Contact / Estates Liaison Officer and have overall management of Health and Safety within the Division/Function/Cluster, including compliance with Health, Safety and Fire Regulations (H&S). The post holder will ensure all risk assessments are undertaken and staff are made aware of their personal responsibility toward H&S compliance. The jobholder will also manage relationships and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and support partnership working in the Function or Cluster.
Working Arrangements
MoJ offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non‑contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for hybrid working. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review. For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre‑employment checks.
