Overview
The Role: We are looking for a Solution Developer to join Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions, playing a key role in delivering growth and innovation through New Product Development (NPD). This is a hands-on, technically focused role responsible for leading end-to-end NPD projects within the construction sector—from early customer insight and concept development through testing, manufacture and launch. Working across Gyproc and Isover brands, you will help identify how the construction market is evolving and translate those insights into practical, scalable solutions. The role is split approximately 50% office-based and 50% laboratory/site-based, with regular interaction with customers, suppliers and external testing facilities.
Responsibilities
* Leading New Product Development projects from concept to launch, aligned to the SGIS innovation calendar
* Analysing construction market trends and customer needs to identify new solution opportunities
* Gathering customer insight from house builders, main contractors and architects, and translating this into clear technical specifications
* Designing, developing and testing formulations, materials and systems in laboratory environments
* Building and testing full-scale prototypes (e.g. wall and ceiling systems) to evaluate real-world performance
* Working closely with manufacturing teams, both internal and external, to define what "good" looks like and ensure solutions are manufacturable at scale
* Collaborating with suppliers to align quality, performance and supply requirements
* Visiting construction sites and external test facilities to validate solutions in live environments
* Leading cross-functional project teams and influencing stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope and budget
* Ensuring all solutions meet safety, quality, compliance and sustainability standards, supporting Saint-Gobain's net zero ambitions
About you
Ideally a STEM background technically curious developer with a strong background in New Product Development and a passion for turning insight into tangible solutions. You enjoy being hands-on, working across disciplines, and seeing your ideas come to life in real-world applications.
Qualifications
* A STEM background with proven experience in product development, ideally within construction or manufacturing
* Strong, demonstrable experience in New Product Development (NPD) - this role is fully focused on NPD projects
* A clear understanding of development and manufacturing processes, with the ability to explain and apply them in practice
* Experience working with manufacturing operations, including outsourced suppliers, and the ability to define and assess quality and performance standards
* Confidence working cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain and commercial teams
* The ability to translate customer insight into robust technical requirements and development plans
* A proactive, resilient and solution-oriented mindset, with strong communication and influencing skills
