Accountant
Location: Northamptonshire Job Type: Permanent
We are seeking an organised and proactive Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing organisation. This role is central to ensuring accurate financial processing, supporting internal teams, and contributing to continuous process improvement across the business.
This is an office-based position and ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in high-quality financial management, and is confident supporting colleagues and customers alike.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Processing & Management
* Handle daily bookkeeping transactions
* Manage cashflow and financial forecasting
* Process supplier payments and manage related documentation
* Raise and issue customer invoices
* Respond to supplier and customer finance queries
* Mentor and support an apprentice within the finance function
* Produce management accounts and ad hoc financial reports for senior leadership
Customer Service & Internal Support
* Provide administrative and customer service support, including answering calls and booking customer services when required
* Build and maintain strong working relationships across internal departments
* Uphold a positive, professional image of the organisation through warm and supportive communication
* Share information clearly and effectively with directors, colleagues, and external partners
* Promote a customer-focused approach, managing complaints and issues promptly and constructively
* Take responsibility for ongoing personal and professional development
What We're Looking For
* Highly organised with strong time-management capabilities
* Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting role with broad exposure to business finances
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Comfortable working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities
* High attention to detail with strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
* Ability to present and explain financial information clear
Nice to Have
* Experience using Xero (beneficial but not essential)
