Procurement Analyst, Placement Intern 2025

Location: Weybridge

Undergraduate looking for a placement year? Curious about how global companies spend smart?

We are now looking for our next Procurement Analyst Intern — and it’s your chance to see what strategic buying looks like at a world-leading tech and entertainment brand.

You’ll work with our Corporate Procurement team, managing the sourcing of indirect goods and services — think marketing, IT, HR, and facilities contracts — and help us maximise value, reduce risk, and build sustainable supplier relationships.

The Job

What will you be doing?

1. Support various teams (Business Support, Marketing, Recruitment, R&D & Professional Solutions) with the development, coordination, and implementation of strategic procurement plans.
2. Promote sustainability initiatives within the department, focusing on decarbonisation and research of standard methodologies.
3. Support the successful delivery of departmental performance metrics to deliver continuous improvement – including contract coverage and supplier payment terms.
4. Ensure the successful post-contract delivery of goods and services through vendor management activities.
5. Liaise and build successful relationships with internal partners and external third-party suppliers.
6. Prepare and conduct fact-based supplier negotiations in support of strategic sourcing initiatives.
7. Promote sustainability initiatives within the department, focusing on decarbonisation and research of standard methodologies.

What do we need you to bring?

8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
9. An analytical mindset, with the desire to grow in this particular realm.
10. Strong numerical and logical skills with an ability to make and justify data-driven decisions.
11. A courageous and innovative approach to work with a self-learner attitude.
12. Willingness to travel, nationally and internationally when required.
13. Fluency in English (written and spoken), additional European languages are advantageous.
14. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint).

Our Recruitment Process

After you have submitted your application, selected candidates will be asked to complete a self-service video interview. After we have carefully reviewed all the video interviews, those who successfully meet our hiring criteria will be invited to an interview with our hiring team. During or prior to the interview, there will be an additional case-study task for applicants to complete. Why? This not only allows us to see what you can do but also enables you to get a taste of what your day-day work will entail. After the interviews have concluded, we’ll move to the offer stage, and before you know it, you’ll be here at Sony!

Throughout the recruitment process until your start date, you’ll have regular connections with our HR & Sony Placement Year programme team, as well as our current interns to answer any questions and provide guidance and further information on your Sony journey. This will also allow you to connect with the other future interns who will form the 2026 Sony cohort and start building your network. If you will need to relocate, this is also a great opportunity to find others in the same situation.

We have a staff car park which includes electric charging points, an undercover and secure bike rack, or if you will use public transport we have a shuttle bus service that regularly runs between train station and the office at peak times.
