We are seeking to appoint to a brand-new position: Family Engagement Officer to help our dedicated team to strengthen home-school relationships, support attendance and wellbeing and assist our families in navigating systems and services that impact their children’s lives.
What you’ll do
* Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents and carers.
* Support families in understanding and engaging with EHCPs and support plans.
* Promote attendance and tackle persistent absence with empathy and professionalism.
* Work as part of a multi‑agency team including therapists, safeguarding staff, and external professionals.
* Facilitate inclusive parent forums, workshops, and informal support opportunities.
* Champion parent voice and inclusive communication across the school.
What we’re looking for
* Experience supporting families, ideally in an education or SEN setting, but any relevant experience welcomed.
* A strong understanding of the challenges faced by families of children with severe and complex needs.
* A confident, empathetic communicator who builds positive relationships & maintains professional boundaries.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and family support frameworks.
