Job Purpose
The role will be reporting to the Head of Legal & Business Affairs and working alongside
other Legal & Business Affairs Executives, servicing the acquisition and licensing of rights
across all commercial forms of exploitation, including gaming and gambling.
Responsibilities
* Drafting and negotiating licence agreements covering all forms of exploitation including gaming and gambling;
* Drafting and negotiating acquisition of content agreements;
* Drafting co-production agreements including associated banking paperwork;
* Negotiating with licensees based on internal guidelines and deal memos approved by the CEO;
* Being the legal lead for certain assigned sales territories/activities ;
* Assisting the Head of Legal and Business Affairs in a variety of diverse contractual matters relating to Banijay Rights including dispute management;
* Involvement with trademark registrations;
* Following up with clients for the return of executed sales contracts and keeping Sales VP’s & SVP’s and their coordinators updated on status of deals;
* Helping develop template documents and other adhoc commercial agreements
Knowledge and Skills Required
* Relevant industry experience across all forms of exploitation with proven experience in gambling and gaming licensing;
* Detailed knowledge of commercial and contract law;
* Good understanding of music royalties (PRS and Mechanical rights);
* Significant knowledge of Intellectual property law relevant to exploitation;
* Ability to prioritise and manage significant volumes of contractual workload;
* Ability to work within agreed deal timelines;
* Ability to work independently and efficiently;
* Confidence to negotiate licensing agreements to completion with licensees;
* Ability to discuss and convey complex legal contractual matters in a clear and concise manner with the relevant members of the sales teams;
* Experience of rights management databases such as Easy Track and Jaguar preferable;
* A team player and good inter-personal skills;
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Additional European languages an advantage
