Our Technology organization, composed of intrapreneurs, builds industry-defining tech using innovations like AI and edge computing to seize new opportunities. At McDonald’s, you will address technology challenges at scale, collaborate with global teams, and see your work directly impact our restaurants and customers.
Partnering with the GTIO Director, Global Network Security, this role develops new Network Security services and enhances existing ones to protect users, devices, networks, applications, and data. You will collaborate closely with various business and technology teams to ensure our services meet diverse needs.
This position oversees critical network security services, including firewall, IPS/IDS, Content Filtering, SASE, SSE, ZTNA, VPN, and DDoS. You will lead the strategic direction, technical evolution, and daily operations of platforms like SSE, NGFW, or Proxy.
You will work globally to ensure our services are scalable and secure, setting high-level strategies, expectations, and vendor requirements.
This role involves close cooperation with market technology, Risk Management, Infrastructure and Operations, application owners, vendors, and others to ensure optimal design and functioning of McDonald’s network security services.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading design, engineering, and delivery for network security platforms, especially SSE.
* Developing and leading platform vision, strategy, and roadmap, including market research, backlog prioritization, and budgeting.
* Ensuring platform availability and performance aligns with business needs.
* Analyzing complex security issues, identifying causes, and implementing corrective actions.
* Acting as platform owner for global and regional teams regarding SSE strategy.
* Assessing global and market needs to ensure products meet business requirements.
* Managing external vendors to ensure service quality and standards.
* Leading technical evaluations and vendor selections for platform development.
* Documenting and communicating network security guidelines and blueprints.
* Driving transformation, standardization, and innovation for global and regional security requirements.
* Maintaining and improving platform capacity and performance.
* Developing resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.
* Partnering to deliver network self-healing automation for security events.
* Mentoring and empowering a high-performing team of analysts and engineers.
* Extensive experience with network security products, including SSE, Firewalls, Proxy, ZTNA.
* Knowledge of SSE technologies like Prisma Access and ZScaler.
* Experience designing and managing core enterprise networks (Routing, Switching, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS).
* Proven ability to develop security standards and policies, and to enforce them.
* Experience leading large programs with third-party vendors and internal teams.
* Collaborating with business leaders, technology directors, and application owners.
* Translating new technologies into strategic roadmaps and arguments.
* Delivering large-scale automation projects (e.g., Network as Code).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Network, Cybersecurity, or related field.
* Experience in innovating and standardizing network security solutions.
* Familiarity with multinational and distributed business models.
* Leadership experience with 24x7x365 teams.
* Professional certifications such as CCIE Security, PCNSE, CISM, CISSP, SSE Engineer, or similar.
* Experience working in Agile environments, familiar with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
* Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
