Job Opportunity: Primary School Caretaker - Term Time
Location: Primary School, Ellesmere Port
Contract: Fixed-Term, Term Time Only
Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, split shift: 7am-10am and 3pm-6pm)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a friendly primary school in Ellesmere Port to recruit a Caretaker to join their team. This is a key role within the school community, ensuring that the school site is clean, safe, and well maintained.
About the Role:
As a School Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, security, and general maintenance of the school premises. You will carry out minor repairs, liaise with contractors, and ensure the site is safe and presentable for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Unlock and secure the school building each day
Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs (e.g. changing light bulbs, unblocking drains)
Monitor site safety and ensure playgrounds, walkways, and entry points are clean and hazard-free
Conduct regular checks of alarms, lighting, heating, and security systems
Liaise with external contractors and supervise any on-site work
Manage the setting up and tidying of rooms or equipment as needed
Monitor and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
Ensure the premises are safe, secure, and well maintained at all times
Requirements:
Previous experience in a caretaker, facilities, or site management role (school setting preferred)
Practical skills and a good understanding of building maintenance and health & safety
Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule of tasks
Good communication skills and a professional approach
Reliable, punctual, and proactive
A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
