This role is vital in our homes, the night support officer ensures the safety, security and well-being of our young people during the night from 10pm-8am. The role involves: *Staying awake to monitor the young person's safety and wellbeing through the night *Providing emotional support if required *Maintaining security of the home Key Responsibilities & Duties: Supervision & Welfare: Conducting regular, consistent checks on young people throughout the night to ensure they are safe and logging these checks. Emotional Support: Providing reassurance to the young person if they wake up or are upset and helping them regulate their emotions. Safety & Security: Maintaining a safe environment and security of the home. Record Keeping: Completing clear, factual and timely logs. Domestic Tasks: Undertaking light cleaning, laundry and preparing the home for the following day. Being Response: Managing any issues and making dynamic risk assessments if situations arise. Night support officers always have another member of staff in the home (sleep in duty) with them for support if and when needed.
