Position Details
This position can be onsite, hybrid, or remote (in Texas). It is a full-time position with an expected minimum of 32 hours per week. Salary is negotiable dependent upon board certifications.
Under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director, the psychiatrist provides psychiatric care to a caseload proportionate to % FTE. Travel within counties of the service area may be required for service provision and staff meetings. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, treatment planning, and emergency evaluations for children, adolescents, and/or adults based on credentials and certifications.
Requirements include an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas, adherence to current standards of psychiatric practice, ability to provide telemedicine services, and effective use of electronic medical records. The psychiatrist must ensure compliance with policies and billing requirements, complete records timely, and attend training sessions. Supervision of others, including APRNs, may be required. Additional duties include staff consultation, treatment team participation, and coordination with other professionals.
Qualifications
* Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
* Completion of residency in psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry (board certification preferred)
* Current, active license to practice medicine in Texas
* Current Texas Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
* Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from the U.S. Department of Justice, DEA
* Unrestricted eligibility for Medicare/Medicaid/other third-party payers
Physical Abilities
* Must pass a job-related physical
* Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift at least 25 pounds, and reach overhead
* Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and auto insurance
