History Teacher - Secondary School Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire Start Date: February Half Term Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Supply (with potential to become permanent) Salary: MPS/UPS - Competitive, depending on experience Are you an enthusiastic History teacher who enjoys bringing the past to life and encouraging critical thinking in the classroom? Looking for a new opportunity starting from February half term in a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Wellingborough? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking a committed History Teacher to join their team from February half term. This is a full-time role available on a long-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The Role: Teach engaging and inspiring History lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential) Plan and deliver creative lessons that develop students' curiosity, analytical skills and understanding of historical concepts Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement Contribute to curriculum planning and work collaboratively within the Humanities department Support extracurricular activities such as History clubs, enrichment days or educational visits Promote a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment Who We're Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a UK-recognised teaching qualification Recent experience teaching History at secondary level Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities Open to applications from ECTs and experienced teachers Commitment to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development What's On Offer: A full-time History teaching role starting February half term Competitive pay in line with MPS/UPS and experience Supportive leadership and a collaborative Humanities department Access to CPD and professional development opportunities Potential for a permanent position A rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on students' learning If you're ready to inspire students and help them explore the past in a meaningful and engaging way, we'd love to hear from you.
