Claims Handler
Location: WF5
Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 + bonus

Venatu Recruitment are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our client based in WF5. This is a key role in the business supporting clients through the end-to-end insurance claims process while delivering outstanding customer service in line with FCA and company guidelines.
This role involves managing a varied caseload across commercial and personal lines, acting as a key point of contact for customers, insurers and loss adjusters, and ensuring claims are handled efficiently, accurately and compliantly.
Key responsibilities of the Claims Handler
Manage claims across commercial and personal lines (including household, motor, liability, personal injury and commercial risks)
Handle first notification of loss through to settlement
Validate claims against policy cover and liaise with insurers, loss adjusters and recovery agents
Provide clear advice to clients on claims progress, mitigation and policy response
Identify complex, high-value or suspicious claims and escalate appropriately
Maintain accurate claim files and records using IT systems
Deliver exceptional customer service and manage queries professionally
Ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations and company procedures
Support complaints handling and provide management information when required
What we’re looking for in the Claims Handler
Essential:
Previous experience in a Claims Handler role with a broker or insurer
Knowledge of the end-to-end claims process
Understanding of basic insurance policy cover
High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
Ability to build effective relationships with clients and insurers
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable:
General insurance experience
Experience using Open GI, Acturis or similar systems
Cert CII qualification
