Reporting into the Financial Controller, your role will oversee day-to-day finance operations which will include billing and credit control, purchase ledger, stock control and claims handling. This is a varied role which will require good organisational skills and accuracy. The role will enable you to be involved with colleagues across all departments drawing on your excellent communication skills.
Key duties will include:
Credit Control and Customer Account Management:
* Issuing customer statements, reminder letters and overdue payment communications
* Undertaking proactive credit control to include telephone and email contact
* Carrying out compliance checks on new customers
* Processing incoming receipts to ensure the correct and timely allocation of payments
* Handling card payments from customers
Billing:
* Completing daily invoicing activities which will include verifying delivery and packing costs to ensure appropriate charges are included prior to billing
* Liaising with the Sales Administration Team to obtain any missing delivery cost data
* Processing credits and annual customer rebates
Claims Management:
* Gathering evidence and supporting documentation for transport and supplier claims
* Uploading information to relevant portals and managing through to resolution
Purchase Ledger and Supplier Accounts:
* Processing supplier invoices and credit notes with accuracy
* Matching purchase invoices to Goods Received Notes
* Assisting with transport-related supplier invoice queries
* Preparing import costings and maintaining associated documentation
* Updating freight supplier price lists and implementing associated rate changes
Stock Control and Discrepancies:
* Participating in bi-weekly, monthly and annual stock-take activities
* Investing any stock discrepancies in liaison with relevant departments
* Weekly review and reconciliation of warehouse packaging intensity
Reporting:
Annual and monthly sales budget reporting
Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects as required
The Person:
* Strong hands-on accounting and credit control capabilities
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good organisational skills
* Team player; working within a small and friendly team
