We have an exciting opportunity in Hywel Dda University Health Board in the county of Pembrokeshire for a static Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist in our Medical / Respiratory team.
The team provides specialist cover to ITU/HDU; CCU; Medical wards; ED and admissionswards.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and motivated individual who has the skills and ability to motivate and engage with their patients, canwork independently, lead and adapt to innovation and service developments, support supervision and training and has the ability to work flexiblyand collaboratively in a team.
Relevant evidence of recent work experience within Physiotherapy Services is desired. Will need to have a high level of respiratory skills toprovide some leadership to the on call service.
The University Health Board proactively supports training and development both as part of internal and external CPD.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work within the respiratory and medical pathways, encompassing both inpatient ITU and ward rehabilitation. Clinicaldecisions will be determined using a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice, comprehensive clinical assessment and enhanced reasoningskills.
We are looking for an individual with great interpersonal skills to network with acute and community colleagues to co-ordinate a responsive,seamless service across pathways and sectors. You will have organisational ability and a commitment to service development by developing theevidence base for evaluation through audit, clinical effectiveness and research activity.
As appropriate, there will be an expectation to deputise for senior management.
As an experienced postgraduate, you will also need to have a strong and broad clinical grounding. You will work autonomously as a highly skilledpractitioner managing a clinical caseload of patients with diverse and complex health and social care needs and alongside members of the MDT ina managerial and clinical role.
The successful applicant will provide clinical leadership, specialist expertise and supervision to juniorphysiotherapists, physiotherapy technicians, students and generic rehabilitation assistants.
There will be a strong educational element to the role as a clinical expert.
