General Ledger Accounting Consultant

This is a great job for someone who wants to get into the detail of how things work. You will get to learn how accounting for the Healthcare business and financial processes work which will allow you to contribute to the closing of Aviva Health Care books and records and support the financial control framework. You will need a natural curiosity, enjoy problem solving, take accountability for your own workload and provide your leader with clear updates on progress.
A bit about the job:
As part of Aviva's General Ledger Accounting and Financial Control team, you will manage and review complex manual journals and controls, ensuring they meet financial control standards and deadlines. Your role involves analysing high volumes of data, supporting monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to resolve queries. You'll need to understand the end-to-end processes and their downstream impacts, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position is crucial for maintaining robust financial controls and delivering precise financial insights.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
1. Finance and accounting knowledge (ideally studying towards a qualification but not essential)
2. Excellent time management skills and good interpersonal skills
3. Good analytical skills and willingness to follow through on issues
4. Good knowledge of Excel with excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
5. Knowledge of oracle financial is desirable but not essential

6. Starting salary between £30,000 and £35,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
7. Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
