A well-established specialist school in the Crowborough area is seeking a committed and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 7-16 with a range of needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and complex learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities for Special Needs Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis with both academic and emotional needs
Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning strategies and behaviour support plans
Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence in a structured and therapeutic setting
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
Collaborate with a dedicated team to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs
Be calm, resilient, and supportive, especially when working with challenging behaviour
Show strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to the progress and wellbeing of each pupil
Hold relevant training or qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, psychology degree, Team Teach) - desirable but not essential
