We have a great opportunity for an Engineer Apprentice to join an experienced team, providing a first-class service at our flour mill in Belfast. In this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of duties and training which builds on their academic qualification, developing skills to work competently as a Maintenance Technician. To assist the engineering team in the maintenance of the plant, buildings & equipment; delivering efficiencies and improvements whilst complying with all safety, quality and legal standards. Key Accountabilities To operate to procedures as defined within site health and safety, Food safety, quality, environmental and systems and standards. Support daily plant inspections, monitoring plant performance. Working proactively with the team to complete planned, predictive and reactive maintenance tasks across the site and completes administration tasks as and when required. Reports and rectifies operational defects as they occur and logs corrective actions on the planned maintenance system. Assists engineers with any breakdowns or emergencies that arise. Looks to identify any opportunities for improvement of the plant, processes and working environment. Understands the costs associated with the maintenance operation and looks to reduce them wherever possible. The Right Person The required GCSE Minimum Grade C (or equivalent) in Math's, English, Science and one other subject. A minimum of 2 "A" levels (or equivalent) preferably in an engineering or science related subject. Computer literate. A demonstrable interest in mechanical/electrical engineering through education or interests. A willing learner able to assist in all maintenance activities. An analytical thinker capable of problem solving and identifying opportunities for improvement. A confident and engaging communicator; able to build good working relationships with colleagues.
