Overview
Play a vital role in delivering engineering solutions that support national defence and public safety. From converting specialist vehicles for the Metropolitan Police to developing electrical systems for armoured and civilian platforms, your contributions will help ensure these assets are safe, reliable, and ready for deployment. Throughout your placement, you'll be involved in a wide range of activities. You'll work on tasks such as designing wiring harnesses, integrating electrical systems, and testing components to meet performance and safety standards. You'll also support fault diagnosis and system upgrades, collaborate with suppliers, and contribute to technical reviews and problem-solving efforts. As you gain experience, your responsibilities will grow. You'll start by assisting with detailed design work and installation planning, and progress to coordinating small work packages and working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects involving electrical system integration in armoured vehicles, bespoke police vehicle conversions, and the development of power distribution and control systems for logistic platforms. Throughout the programme, you'll be supported by experienced mentors and a structured development plan designed to help you build confidence, expand your skills, and explore your future in engineering.
