Are you an experienced Legal Indemnity Underwriter or a legal professional looking to pivot your career into underwriting? This is your opportunity to join a respected and forward-thinking insurance business that’s renowned for its technical excellence and client-focused approach.
We are looking for a confident, commercially astute individual to join a high-performing Underwriting Team, specialising in both residential and commercial legal indemnity insurance, as well as estate administration cover.
What you’ll be doing:
Underwriting a range of legal indemnity risks with authority and precision
Negotiating and calculating competitive premiums that reflect the risk presented
Producing clear and thorough risk assessments and underwriting notes
Collaborating with brokers, resellers, and internal teams to develop and improve product offerings
Maintaining strong relationships with clients, attending meetings and industry events as needed
Staying current with changes in law to ensure products meet client needs
What we’re looking for:
A minimum of 4 years' experience underwriting legal indemnity insurance
OR experience as a property lawyer, conveyancer, or private client solicitor with relevant risk knowledge
Strong understanding of defective title or probate/estate administration risks
Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude
Comfortable working towards KPIs in a collaborative, high-performing team
