As an Employee Relations Consultant, Vice President – UK & Ireland, you will provide expert support and advice to the business divisions and corporate functions throughout the UK and Ireland, ensuring the effective management of internal and external Employee Relations (ER) matters and ER-related risks (e.g., legal, financial and reputational). The team supports the organization by advising on workplace matters, helping manage employee concerns, building manager capability, and fostering engagement. This role is for an experienced ER professional with deep expertise in the UK & Ireland markets.
Responsibilities
* Provide timely and professional advice on ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and conduct matters.
* Manage a caseload of complex ER cases with accurate documentation and risk mitigation.
* Partner with HR Business Partners and line managers to resolve complex employee issues.
* Ensure compliance with UK and Irish employment legislation and internal policies.
* Collaborate with stakeholders on employee relations and related matters such as legal, risk, and compliance.
* Facilitate ER investigations and provide advice and support to investigating and hearing managers to ensure fair and consistent approaches.
* Support fellow ER Consultants in the UK & Ireland and manage a collective caseload; extend cover to cases internationally as required.
* Work closely with Occupational Health and Permanent Health Insurance providers to enable early intervention on case management and a joined-up approach to sickness absence.
* Manage restructuring projects and effectively handle collective and individual consultation requirements.
* Support the development and implementation of ER policies and procedures.
* Contribute to training and coaching for managers on ER topics and best practices.
* Monitor ER trends and provide insights to inform proactive interventions.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes.
* Advise on latest ER practices and legislative changes as they relate to ER, implementing them where needed.
* Participate with the broader GHR team on global, regional, and country-based GHR and/or business initiatives (e.g., M&A).
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience at a senior level in a fast-paced ER function (financial services experience preferred).
* Strong knowledge of UK and Irish Employment Law.
* Previous TUPE experience.
* Proven success in collaborating and negotiating with consultation bodies.
* Proven experience managing complex cross-jurisdictional ER cases.
* Experience navigating a global organization and matrix structures.
