An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Community Learning and Development (CLD) to support the development and delivery of accredited learning across North Lanarkshire. We are recruiting a CLD Worker to embed Qualifications Scotland accredited qualifications (previously known as SQAs) into learning programmes delivered across council services and community settings.

This new role will drive forward an ambitious project to extend access to accredited learning, including Qualifications Scotland’s Employability Award and Work Placement units (SCQF 4/5). The project will support individuals furthest from the labour market to gain formal recognition for the skills that they develop through community learning, employability activity and practical programmes delivered by partner services.

Working as part of the Adult Learning and Resettlement team, the post holder will plan, deliver and assess SQA units; support the creation of structured learning pathways; and collaborate closely with other council services and programmes, such as the Summer Placement Programme.

An enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will be working with young adults, families and adults within a community setting. You will be knowledgeable and have a good understanding of current national and local developments in working with vulnerable adults with a particular emphasis on current adult learning policy and objectives. The successful candidate will have experience of collaborative working with a variety of agencies as well as good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

You must have a CLD Standards Council approved professional qualification in Community Learning & Development.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

Working Pattern:

Monday - Friday: 09:00am - 17:00pm (1 hour unpaid break).

You may be required to work evenings or weekends as required to meet needs of service.

This position is temporary until 31/03/.
