We are looking for a special person to join our team as a SENDCo Assistant, working 20 hours per week during term time. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive difference to pupils who may face barriers to their learning. The initial contract is on a fixed term basis until the end of the academic year (August 2025), though there is the potential for this to be a permanent role. It is important for us to find the right person for our team: we are able to offer flexible working, with hours spread across the week or concentrated on specific days.
The position would be ideal for a highly-skilled teaching assistant with experience of working with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs who is looking to take the next step in their career, or for someone who is ambitious to use their skills and passion for making a difference to pupils with SEND through working in a highly successful school.
Ideally the successful candidate will be able to commence the role early in Term 2 (November 2025) but we would not discourage people from enquiring should they not be able to start by this time.
1. Are you committed to promoting outcomes for children with SEND, helping them to be happy and successful?
2. Do you have knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEND and are able to make a positive difference to their learning and achievement?
3. Are you caring, supportive and encouraging?

4. Can support the SENDCo’s work in the identification of need, for example facilitating assessments and screening tools
5. Supports the SEND team and school staff to map provisions
6. Delivers a range of targeted interventions
7. Carries out administrative duties to support the requirements of the SEND team
8. Communicates effectively with staff, parents/carers and other professionals

10. Shows optimism, positivity and ambition for the school, its pupils and the Trust
