Associate – Investment Team - Job Description
Kanadevia Inova Capital (“KVIC”) is searching for an analyst to join its growing investment team focusing on deploying capital in the European and North American biomethane sectors. The analyst role will report to the investment managers and directors and work to screen new projects, make new investments and manage current ones. The analyst will be given tuition (depending on initial competencies) in financial modelling, contract and wider analytics.
Key task will include:
* Help identify investment opportunities meeting KVIC’s investment criteria and present them to the wider investment team.
* Act as a lead on the financial modelling of new projects. This will include maintaining and developing the KVIC’s in-house financial models to:
* Update presentation of the KPIs and underlying assumptions;
* Give accurate valuations (NPV) and returns;
* Update model inputs and assumptions as the project develops;
* Develop sensitivities;
* Develop sensible graphical outputs;
* Ensure financial models reflect the contract terms of each deal; and
* Reflect tax and accounting projections accurately.
* Support the Investment Managers and Directors in the preparation of Investment Committee papers.
* Work with Investment managers and Directors on new projects, developing them from origination through to financial close.
* Lead the due diligence of new projects alongside Investment Managers and Directors.
* Work with Investment Managers and Directors in preparing offer letters and securing exclusivity with project’s developers.
* Support in the review and negotiation of deals and contract documents
* Support in the management of project from inception through construction and into operations
* Attend conferences in relation to the biomethane sector and provide notes to the rest of the investment team.

The candidate will possess:
* Strong attention to details;
* The ability to analyse and evaluate;
* Strong numerical ability and quantitative skills;
* Excellent communication skills;
* The ability to work effectively in a team;
* Possess initiative;
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial modelling in an infrastructure, project finance or private equity background;
* Previous financial modelling experience is mandatory;
* Another European language is a plus;
* Willingness to travel abroad as and when required;
* An understanding of the KVIC business; and
* An excellent academic track record.
