An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our busy GP Practice's, New Seaham Medical Group and Blackhall & Peterlee Practice.

We are open Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00 each week and have extended access on an Monday evening until 8pm and Thursday Morning from 7am.


Main duties of the job

Our Ideal Candidate will have experience of primary care including our clinical system (SystmOne) and all Microsoft packages however training will be given. We are looking for an enthusiastic committed individual to join our team and provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Main Duties of the job will be:

* Ensure an effective and efficient service is provided to patients and other visitors to the practice.
* Care Navigating Patients to appropriate health care professionals and booking appointments
* Provide general assistance to the practice team, both clinical and non clinical
* Front Desk Reception cover
* Undertake all clerical, reception and administration duties applicable to the medical practice

Our Team consists of 4 GP Partners, Salaried GP's, Practice Managers, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Health Care Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Care Coordinators, Social Prescribing Link Workers and a large Administration team.


Job responsibilities

Ensure an effective and efficientreception service is providedto patients and any other visitors to the Practice.

Deal with all general enquiriesfrom patients, explainprocedures and make new and follow-up appointments.

Receive and make telephone calls as required. Take messages, ensuring accuracyof detail and prompt appropriate delivery.

Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient/pharmacy within 48 hours, in line with practice protocol.

Act on clinicians requests for further information/patient contact information etc. ensuring completion of all associated requests.

Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services, accept payment and issue receiptsfor same

Process incoming and outgoing mail according to practiceprotocols.

Record actions taken in patient record where appropriate or in accordancewith practice protocols

Accepting new registrations/temporaryresidents/immediately necessary forms and completion of necessary actions

Care Navigate patients to the correct services ensuring the patients receive the correct and most effective care for their needs


Person Specification


Experience

* Experience of working within a team
* Experience of forward facing customer care role
* Experience of working in a Primary Care or NHS setting
* Experience of using SystmOne Clinical System


Qualifications

* GCSE English and Maths or Equivalent
* NVQ Level 2 or Above relative to Administration
* Driving Licence
