Health Care Assistant - Knowsley Community Sexual Health
We are seeking a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join the Knowsley Community Sexual Health team. The multidisciplinary team provides Integrated Sexual Health and Contraception services across Knowsley. Positions will be mainly based at Knowsley Sexual Health Service, with travel to various locations and flexibility to work a range of early and evening shifts.
Responsibilities
* Deliver patient care in line with professional competencies and within scope of practice.
* Maintain professionalism and effective communication in all aspects of work.
* Contribute to a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
* Support clinical colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team (HCA, assistant practitioner, band 6/7 nurses, doctors and consultants).
* Deliver venepuncture as part of required competencies.
* Participate in induction and ongoing training to develop skills with organisational support.
* Demonstrate flexibility to cover shifts and locations as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Essential: IT skills, ability to learn quickly, and good communication skills.
* Essential: Venepuncture competencies (or willingness to undertake training).
* Desirable: Experience within a sexual health/contraception service (not essential).
* Candidates may be considered for a Band 3 if they hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or a National Care Certificate, or are willing to undertake it.

* Location: Knowsley Sexual Health Service with travel to other locations as required.
* Salary: Band 3 (as per NHS pay scales).

* Shift pattern: Early and evening shifts; flexibility essential.
