At Companies House, we have a well-established User-Centred Design team within our Digital and Technology directorate, which includes a team of interaction designers, service designers, content designers, user researchers and performance analysts. Our services are critical for the UK economy, and as an organisation we are committed to making them as user friendly, inclusive, and accessible as possible. �

Job description
As a Senior Interaction Designer, you�ll:�
1. be an expert practitioner who uses agile methodologies, can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and use an iterative method and flexible approach to designing digital services that meet user needs�
2. be an expert at designing concepts, and building advanced prototypes using the Prototype Kit,as well as apps such as Figma and Mural�
3. be a confident and competent designer who can develop designs for user-centred, accessible services, based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes�
4. be able to communicate complex user needs and tell the story of how the digital design meets these needs�
5. communicate complex design decisions with technical, delivery and product teams, and influence the end-to-end design of a digital service�
6. work on multiple concurrent services at different stages of delivery�
7. play an important role in ensuring that our services meet the Service Standard and present evidence at service assessments�
8. contribute to and use the Design System�
9. be trusted to make good decisions and recognise when to ask for further guidance and support�
10. build relationships across Companies House and cross-government digital delivery communities, to focus on the needs of our users and to influence stakeholders�

Front-end development experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Line management experience would also be advantageous but is not essential.�

The information on the register is searched billions of times a year to support the making of millions of business decisions. Alongside your salary of �33,134, Companies House contributes �9,598 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
Please note that the minimum salary does not reflect the 2023/24 pay deal and we are therefore expecting this to increase in the near future.
